Our Mission
1. We emphasize the voices of a diverse group of women to educate young girls on women's experiences and challenges while forging a name for themselves in the corporate landscape.
In a busy corporate world, we rarely ever stop and think about the relationships and communities we build. Women’s role in the workplace has been forged through years of resilience and hard work, with women making up 56.8% of the labor force in 2022. Still, the experience can be isolating for many young women joining the workforce, as few working women share the successes and failures that made them who they are today. Unfold Your Story shares the real-life stories of women fighting to make the world a better place with their careers and skills.
2. We share inspirational stories of the resilience, strength, and hard work women put into their careers and lives.
Outside of their careers, many women have familial and personal obligations that they attend to. 71.2% of working women have children under 18 and strive to maintain a strong career and healthy home life. Unfold Your Story seeks to share a holistic image of working women's experiences inside and outside the workplace.
3. We advocate for a more equitable workplace using storytelling as a method of social change.
Storytelling is the #1 way to inspire. By uplifting women’s voices, we can inspire young girls to fight for gender equality. Although women make up most of the labor force, they are paid 82% of what men earn. Additionally, women are less than 14% likely to be promoted to positions of power. By highlighting the inequalities women experience in the workplace and their resilience, Unfold Your Story seeks to inspire young girls to fight for gender equality.
